Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of the Ironstone Fairfield Concrete and Masonry website and any estimate or work we do for you. By using this site, requesting an estimate or booking a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you reach out.
If you don't agree with something here, don't use the site, and call us at (707) 398-2147 before we schedule any work so we can talk it through. A signed written estimate or contract for your job takes priority over this page wherever the two differ.
What we do
We're a masonry contractor in Fairfield, CA, and we also do concrete work for homeowners in Fairfield and the cities around it. Our work includes foundation and block walls, brick and stone repair, chimneys, fireplaces, pavers, walkways, retaining walls and outdoor kitchens. You can see the full list on our home page and read more about our crew on our About page.
What's on this website is general information to help you understand the work. It isn't advice for your specific house, because every job depends on what we find once we're on site and, sometimes, once the old masonry is opened up.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates at your property, with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is our best price for the scope of work it describes, based on what we can see and measure on the day we visit.
Prices can change if the scope changes, if you ask for different materials, or if we uncover hidden conditions such as rotted framing, failed footings or damaged brick behind a surface. When that happens, we stop and explain what we found before doing extra work, and we won't charge for it without your approval.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have moved, so we'll confirm or update the price before we start.
Scheduling and cancellation
We'll give you a start date and an expected length for the job, but masonry and concrete depend on weather, curing time, material deliveries and any required inspections. Rain, heat or a delayed inspection can push the schedule, and we'll let you know as soon as we see it coming.
If you need to reschedule or cancel, call us as early as you can so we can adjust our crew and orders. Cancellation terms, including how any deposit or materials already ordered are handled, are set out in your written estimate or contract, along with any cancellation rights the law gives you.
Payment terms
The amount due, any deposit, progress payments and the final payment are all spelled out in your written estimate or contract before work begins. Final payment is due when the work described is complete, unless your agreement says otherwise.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until the account is brought current, and we may use the remedies California law allows a contractor to recover what's owed.
Our guarantee and warranty limits
We stand behind our work with our satisfaction guarantee. If something we built or repaired isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it, and the details of what's covered for your job are in your written agreement.
Beyond that guarantee and any written warranty we give you, we make no other promises, express or implied, about the work or this website. Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from settling soil, earthquakes, flooding, tree roots, misuse, lack of upkeep, or changes someone else makes to our work. Natural stone, brick and concrete also vary in color and texture and can show fine hairline cracks as they cure, and those are normal for the material, not defects.
Materials and products made by others carry their makers' warranties, and we'll pass those along to you.
Limitation of liability
We're fully licensed and insured, and we're responsible for the work we do. To the fullest extent California law allows, our total responsibility for any claim tied to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We aren't responsible for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of your property, or for delays caused by weather, suppliers, inspectors or anything else outside our control. We're also not responsible for how you use the general information on this website. Nothing here limits any responsibility that the law doesn't allow a contractor to limit.
Resolving a disagreement
If you're unhappy with something, call us first at (707) 398-2147 or reach us through our Contact page. Most problems get settled quickly when we come back out and look at the work together.
If we can't work it out between us, either side may take the matter to small claims court or to the courts in Solano County, California, unless your written contract names another way to settle disputes.
Governing law
These terms, this website and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies when you use the site. Changes won't alter a written estimate or contract you've already signed with us.
Questions about these terms
If anything here is unclear, call Ironstone Fairfield Concrete and Masonry at (707) 398-2147 or send us a note through our Contact page. We'll explain it in plain terms before you decide anything.
