About our Fairfield masonry contractor and crew
Ironstone Fairfield Concrete and Masonry is a masonry contractor in Fairfield, CA, best known for brick and mortar repair, with new walls, paving and stone work too. I started it in 2023, and I still come out to every job and work right alongside our small crew.

How I got into masonry and started in Fairfield
I spent every summer through school on masonry crews, mixing mortar, hauling block and watching the older masons work. You learn a lot just watching how a good mason checks a joint before moving on. In 2023 I started Ironstone Fairfield Concrete and Masonry here in Fairfield, and I still come out to every job and work with our small crew.
We're best known for brick and mortar repair, and we take on new walls, paving and stone work too. Most of our calls around Fairfield come from homeowners with crumbling joints, a cracked wall or a yard project they've been putting off for a while, and plenty of them just want someone to tell them straight how bad it is.
What I care about most is the stuff nobody sees once we're done, the base, the footing and the mortar mix. Set a heavy bookshelf on a soft rug and it leans before long, and a wall on a thin footing does the same thing, only slower. I also want you to understand your own walls, so ask away and I'll keep explaining until it makes sense.
What working with our crew is like
These are the things homeowners notice once we're working on their property. They come straight from how I learned the trade and what I've seen hold up on walls and paving over time.
The owner on every job
I come out to look at your job myself, and I'm on site while our crew does the work. That way the person who gave you the estimate is the same one answering your questions and answering for how the work turns out.
Care where you can't see
We spend the most time on the base, the footing and the mortar mix, because once they're buried or covered with brick you'll never see them again. Those hidden parts are what decide whether a wall stays straight and the joints stay tight for years.
Straight answers and smaller fixes
I'll show you what's going on with your masonry and why I'd fix it the way I suggest. If cutting out and refilling a few bad joints will handle it instead of a rebuild, I'll tell you, because there's no sense paying for more than you need.
Permits handled for you
When a job needs a permit, we put in the application, keep you posted and meet the inspector, so you're not stuck learning the city's system. If we're not sure whether your job needs one, we check with the city's building office before we start.
Licensing for masonry work in Fairfield
California requires a contractor license for work that needs a building permit, uses extra workers or costs $1,000 or more in labor and materials, and Fairfield requires its own business license. We're fully licensed and insured.
- Response time
We get back to you within one business day.
What happens after you call us
Every job runs through the same four steps, from your first call to the final cleanup. I'm part of each one, so you know exactly who to ask when a question comes up.
Call or send the form
Call (707) 398-2147 or fill out our contact form with a few lines about your wall, joints or yard project. We get back to you within one business day to set a time when I can come out and see it in person.
I look and give an estimate
I walk the job with you, check the joints, the base and what's causing the problem, and explain what I see. Price usually turns on the size, the materials and how much old work has to come out, and the estimate is free, done on site and comes with no obligation.
Permits, if the job needs one
If your project needs a permit, we apply for it and let you know how the city's review is going. Your start date usually depends on that review, and when we're not sure a permit applies, we ask the city's building office before any work begins.
We build, then walk it with you
Our small crew does the work with me on site, and we meet the inspector when one is needed. When we're done, we clean up, walk the finished job with you and go over anything you want to know about looking after it.
